Complaint Review: AdultFriendFinder

I was an AdultFriendFinder member for 6 months. I started out as a free member and then joined as a Gold Member to get access to profiles and video chat. I actually did meet quite a few people here, however I was very patient when I first starting using it. There are features that allow you to page other members who are online. For the longest time I thought people just didn't want to talk to me. Later I found with friends that they just were not receiving the pages from. Sometimes when I did enter a chat session with someone they would just leave. I thought it was me again. I just assumed they were not interested.

Several other technologies work very unreliably. Video chat may or may not publish itself on the server. Frequently you thing you are broadcasting, but really nothing is working. Various other glitches in the site can be seen. Frequently number of friends and new friends you have vs real number of friends does not match. Your profile is frequently behind as their web caching is very flawed.

In the most recent months all the chat and services seemed to get even worse. I think they installed some new feature or versions of their chat software. Talking to other members online they all seemed to agree and many of us dropped our accounts, including me.

All in all this site would be a great site if they could get their technology to work. It seems for the amount of paying members they have that they could reinvest some of their profits back into the infrastructure, that in my mind clearly does not scale to the number of users they have.

It's hard enough trying to find someone on one of these sites that is actually interested, given the male to female ratios. When you actually do get connected and the technology fails it's real disappointing and frustrating.
