Advance Auto Parts Return NOT ALLOWED for Online Order Picked Up at Store Bee Cave Texas

Ordered and paid for several items online. Went to the local Advance Auto Parts store that was on my order within 1 week to pick up the items. They handed me the items and receipt. The last item on the list was a lawnmower air filter. I did not order that item and have no lawn mower. So I asked to return it.

The store associate tried to return it, but their system had no record of the purchase. He said that online and the store are two separate companies and I would have to call online customer service.

I was on hold for 20 minutes, then tried to leave my number and a message for a callback, but their msg mailbox was full.

The online site states that returns are allowed at the pick-up store within 45 days. How can I do that? Beware! I cannot be the only one with this problem.
