Advance Auto Parts Work related injury, harrasment, delay and deny treatment of injury. TPA Sedgewick CMS Roanoke, Virginia
I was told when I was first hired by AAP to not file an injury report because it could get you fired.
I was injured several times on the job but I never reported my injuries because I needed a job. I would treat with my own doctor or go to my own chiropractor. Of course, I paid for this out of my own pocket and never missed a days work because of it.
I was injured seriously over a year ago. I was forced to report the injury when a supervisor noticed that I was not moving with my usual speed. and that has turned out to be a good thing. I finally got the care I needed. I had to endure constant berating by supervisors and I had to hire an attorney to get the care I needed.
AAP is not fair with their employees and does not value them as one human should value another. The best part is the fat bottom line for a few.
I would like to be treated with dignity and respect and that doesn't happen at AAP. It is very much a (little) boys club. It does not matter if you are female and competent. You have to be male and preferably white.
I watched my male coworkers get the care they needed after being injured and I had care delayed and denied.
This company may make all efforts to appear inclusive but, they discriminate on the basis of gender and race. I will be filing a complaint with the EEOC very soon.
I will not work there and I will not buy there again, I am encouraging my friends to not deal with them either. I have also contacted my congressional representatives. I have the power of the purse and the power of my voice and I vote.
I would urge people not to buy their products, and not work there unless you are white, male and excel at "sucking up"
