On july 3, 2012 i recieved an email from a matt williams from acs legal group who was representing advance cash services. It clearly stated that i took out a cash advance recently and have failed to pay it back, so it has been reported to acs legal group for collection in the amount of $629.00. The original loan amount was said to be $300.00. It stated that a judgement would be placed against me if i didnt pay the amount stated in 2 business days. It also stated that they have my social security number, ip address and checking account number. I called the number at the bottom of the email to find out what was going on and the man who answered named matt williams bluntly said i took out this loan and i need to pay immediately. I tried explaining to him that i never took out the loan, i do not have a checking account or a computer because mine was stolen and before i could tell him that i wouldnt even meet the requirements for their services because i do not work or have enough income per month, he rudely said "ill see you at the courthouse". All i wanted was some information on how they got my information. The loan was supposedly taken out using my current email address which i have only had for less then a year plus i havent had a checking account in almost 10 years so something just doesnt add up! After the hang up and a rude email response my husband tried calling. Both of our phones are in my name so he must of seen my name come up so we blocked the number using *67 and guess what? He answered, well my husband demanded to know what was going on! Same response rude, nasty comments but yet no answers to the questions, he told this matt how rude he was and was never to call his wifes phone again and disrespect me, thats putting it nicely, im not going to write some of the nastier things he said to this matt. After that i emailed again just asking whats going on and what proof do they have of this "loan" and could i please get some info so we can clear this matter up, no response as of yet. Thats when i found this ripoff report and here i am, wondering who all has my info, very unsettleing to say the least!!! Suzanne, Philadelphia,PA

It appears to me that ACS (Advance Cash Services) think that they can just send an email with threats to take legal action without anyone questioning their identity or motives. I highly suggest that for anyone that receives such email regarding failure to pay and or legal action taken against you, to contact immediately the Attorney General Office in their region. Forward to that office any and all communiocation received from ACS. Make sure that you get the name of the individual that you speka with representing ACS. Also contact the IRS if you belive that your social security number has been compromised. Whatever you do, do not provide ACS with your SS# or any other identifying information unless or until they are willing to provide you with written information regarding the loan in question. You have a right to see for yourself what information they have on file. You have a right to fight the allegations in a cout of law but a law suit is never to be received via email. That enough is questionable. Make sure that you note every attemnpt to contact ACS either through writing and or phone contact. If ther person who responds can not be understood clearly ( they use firieng speakers all the time), ask for someone who speaks English clearly. Please do not send these people money. Conatct again the Attorney General Office, if you area has one, the Commission on Financial Regulations, and any such services that are provided.

Yes Suzanne, I can fully believe what you wrote...and as you file through the pages of all of the internet complaints, you CAN and should take legal action.  I went to my Department of Justice.  They are investigating this.  This includes our State Attorney General.  What I did was kept a file of all of the threatening emails they sent to me.  I started out by trying to find help through my State Banking Commission, who advised I take these emails to the Department of Justice.  Sure enough, I just got a form to complete and send back (which I will do via fax tomorrow), and already emailed my Intake Investigator all of the emails they sent.

Don't worry, you are not alone.  It looks as though these scammers have been busy along the East and West Coast areas...they will be caught and prosecuted soon...just file your claim!

Hi Suzanne From Philly Penn

Obviously these guys calling anyone and everything Do Not Know United States Laws, I mean Last time I knew You do not go to Jail for a outstanding Loan example my School loan has been in default for over 17 years because I can not pay it. It means that things Like a bad or defaulted loan goes on your credit report not jail until you fix your credit report yourself. But clearly these guys are Bullies and scam artists.

Hang in there and something will turn in your favor and it might already have. recorded them everything they say to you or at least try, Keep the emails they send. Just gather all the info on them from your end and then report them to the local police and the FBI especially their division for internet fraud.

One person said if they call back say something like you are gonna put a hex on them and wait and see what they say.

I hope this helps :)
