Well, I am yet another victim of this company ACP collecting on a debt from three years ago from National Check Cashers, which I do not even believe I owed.  It was so long ago I do not remember.  This woman, Lauran Atwell, called with the line that I was being prosecuted for Theft and Check Fraud.  She said I was going to be picked up in 2 hours and detained for the night, until I could be seen before the judge the following day.  After which my family would have to pay $2800 to get me out, but only after I spent the night in jail.  Of course being a parent, I was concerned and asked how I could make this go away without having to leave my children.  She put me on hold, stated she was calling the attorney in charge of my case to see if there was anything they could do for me.  Miraculously after about 5 minutes she came back on the phone and told me they would settle for $795, but I had only 2 hours in which to pay it, by MoneyGram at Walmart.  I know, I know, it still didn't click.  She told me to find out if I could pay the money, then call her back and she would give me the information to which to send the payment.  Mt, not being of sound mind at the time called her back and got the information.  This still didn't click when each time I called, I got something different as the greeting.  First, it was some company name (sounded like a law office), then it was just "operator".  The wheels in the old brain still weren't clicking, and didn't click until I had actually paid the $795, and called her back with the reference number.  Once I received my, PAID IN FULL, letter via email, I decided to look up the company and found several complaints on this site and many others.

Please take it from me, DO NOT, fall for this.  They got over on this one, but please do not let them get over on you.  What they are doing, and how they are going about it is wrong.  Someday they will ALL get what's coming to them.  What goes around, comes around.
