Just a short version of what happened to my daughter and son in law, who used Advanced Moving System.

*Came 1 1/2 days late to pick stuff up.
*Charged 4.95 a cu. ft instead of 2.95 cu. ft as quoted.
*Price went from 2,300 dollar estimate to 5,749 dollars charge.
*Delivered stuff 5 days later than promised.
*Would only bring stuff to first floor.
*Gouges out of new sleigh bed.
*Matress filthy dirty and torn.
*Crystal vases broken in 20 pieces.
*Marble vase broken.
*Couch filthy dirty.
*DVD movies stolen. Box was opened and they took at least 8 movies from the box.
*Printer broken.
*Dealing with very rude people on the phone to their company in Florida.

This was a horrible experience. This company has to be put out of business. We need to contact Date Line. The attorney generals offices for each state involved. But especially Florida.

Contact the department of transportation in Washington DC and complain. We have started doing all these things. I have even called Ryder Trucks to let them know what this company is using their trucks for. Please do not use this company. Moving is stressful enough but this company will add so much stress you won't believe how much stress you will feel.

Thanks for listening. Think twice about getting movers from the internet. I don't believe anything on their web page. It's all a pack of lies, I'm sure.

This is an industry that is out of control. Consumers every day reporting to us here at Rip-off Report.com by e-mail, on how their belongings are destroyed, missing or held hostage for

thousands of dollars more than what their contract called for.

Smaller unknown moving companies along with the big well known moving companies are evaluating the goods and then decide a hostage figure they know they can get from their victims. The victims are in a new environment and know, if they do not pay the movers what they ask, they will never see their personal and irreplaceable belongings.

Strict Federal Legislation needs to be put in place. Local authorities need to step in to help victims get their merchandise returned. This is an Interstate Fraud perpetrated upon consumer's nation wide.

These moving companies already set them selves up to avoid getting caught just in case there is the possibility local authorities are called by the victims. The movers split the homeowners belongings into two different trucks. When police come, the movers deny that there was ever anything more to their customers move.

Many consumers have reported, unless the victims pay the monies, the other truck with their possessions will never seen ever again.
