This company basically gives you one quote and then never delivers your goods unless you are willing to pay double or triple the amount they asked for.

Even then, they charge for extras upon delivery, claiming always that there is too far a space between the truck and your home/apt/condo.

Then, after delivery, goods are damaged, missing or completely broken.

government agencies are powerless to help

Carlos and others: Sadly, I too was ripped off by Advanced Moving over a year ago and I must tell you that I made every effort to get my senators and congress representatives involved. In addition, I appealed to the Florida Attorney's General, Better Business Bureau, The FTC, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, etc. Botton line, forget any help on stopping such egregious company's from flagraantly continuing to rip off the American consumers.

My advice - move yourself next time. That's what I did in my move from Texas to Florida last summer. I packed my own goods, rented a Penske truck (great company) and hired a local company to help me unload on this end. I'ts reassuring to have your goods in your own possession at all times. Don't look for legislative help on the moving industry; they don't care and the media is only luke warn on the subject. In the future, move yoursel and save yourself a lot of money and peace of mind.

It seems that some how the government is not interested in catching these crooks.

I was a victim of Advanced Moving Systems.

Even though I had paid them what the book

"your rights and regulations" say they refused
deliver without me paying the whole amount, I contacted a lawyer, the police, press, all the possible consumer agencies out there and nothing happened.

It seems that some how the government is not interested in catching these crooks. There seems to be a conflict of interest here. We need to all get together and take this to Congress and see if they will ignore all of us then.

Thanks,
