Advanced Moving Systems Rip-off consumer fraud Sunrise Florida
I won't go into my experience with this moving company as I would be repeating about every story I've read from other people having problems with Advanced Moving Systems. What a shame that such a company is still in business. After reading some stories and finding that some people still don't have their furniture, I guess I am lucky to even get my furniture.
I did fill a claim requesting a refund of their overcharging, replacement cost of damage and missing furniture, etc. This was requested September 2002. Of course, I have received nothing, not even a status, which I have requested several times.
I would like to ask a question------has anyone received a payment from a claim they submitted?

Hi -
I read your story - I'm so sorry! I've been working for 18 months to get these people stopped and I won't quit. My report has been filed on ripoffreport.com as well - see the 01/10/03 posting.
As far as reimbursement, please don't wait by the phone or the mailbox. You will get nothing but more heartbreak and a lot of attitude. Nothing these people do is legal. They claim to have insurance - they do not. I was told by their insurance company when I attempted to file a claim that they took the policy out and never paid for it. They did enough to get a policy for records and then let it expire.
They are not members of the BBB and are erroneously and illegally advertising it. They have been advised by various state and federal agencies to remove this from their website; however, they do not.
They were recently fined almost $100K for failure to have a resolution procedure and other problems by the Federal Motor Carriers Association. The FMCA has been wonderful about helping us. They were hoping this would send them a message. However, Zion stated he "would not pay the fine" and he has not, to my knowledge. And, they are still in business.
Please keep all of your documentation and whatever you do, do NOT go on a hunt for your stuff. They only give fake addresses for storage units, warehouses, and their general offices. They may even attempt to sue you before this is all over.
