I received a call from a man named Allan Parrish. I doubt that was his real name as he had a very heavy accent. Said I had won a grant from the government for $12,500. Also said he was from Bank of America and that the FBI was recording the call. He told me that a government officer would be at my door tomorrow morning with a $500 grocery certificate and I would have to give him a password to get the documents for my money.

Well, to get the password, he needed my bank account number to verify my info. I told him that info was private. He said no one in the world would know this info. I told him to not call me again and I hung up. He called me back yelling at me and asking why I hung up. I hung up again. He called again and then 2 more times.

Considering he had my name, address and phone number, I was pretty freaked out. I called my local police department and they had never heard about this scam. They sent an officer to my house and I filed a formal complaint because they said this was considered harassment.

I'm not sure of the company, but it sounds like the same one other people are posting about. The police officer also told me to get my credit report and call Bank of America to see if they know anything and to make sure nothing has happened to my account.

Please people, never give out any personal information over the phone. Hang up on these people as soon as they call and then let your answering machine pick it up if they keep calling. They won't leave a message.
