On a Saturday I had a sales person call my house at about 7:30 p.m. They never identified where they were from they said that they were government funding and proceeded to tell me that they had grants that were $12,500 and that I was guranteed to get it for schooling. Well I was interested because I am a student and I do have student loans. They already knew my full name, address, and that I paid taxes, they then asked me if I had a valid checking account. I said yes and they then told me that they needed my account number so they could route the check they would give me to my bank account. They also gave me their personal I.D. number, a local phone number, and an 1-800 number. It sounded real and had so many details I did it. They then put me on with a recording to verify this. They were also on the line like it was a three way call. The only thing that sounded fishy to me was that this was a foreign woman with a very thick accent and I could barely understand, BUT she had an american name. Her name was Anne Curcis. Also she said their business hours were Monday-Friday 9-5, and she was calling on a Saturday. Well I fell for it and did it. Needless to say I called back and no one answered, and the my caller I.D. picked up a different number than she gave me. She was from Advantage America.
