Advantage Boss Management posted a job add online saying that they are a marketing firm that specializes in sports. They say they will only call the people that they want to employ. They called the next day and have you come in the next day for an interview. It is a very quick talking sales man and say that they will call you if they are interested in you between 5 and 6 that night. They bring you in the next day for half day of "work". They get you out on the road with someone and then they tell you it is selling coupon books. They totally scam you.

UPDATE to "Is this not promotions and advertising" So Sorry.... I was WRONG!

#6UPDATE EX-employee responds

I was interviewed first by Kluger Marketing and then Advantage Boss Marketing... I was told I blew all the candidates out of the water, basically and to come back for a 2nd interview with both companies. I researched Kluger Marketing (KMG) and did not even bother to let them know I would not be back. I went to Advantage Boss Marketing and was really excited about that opportunity, per say, but after reading I filed a rebuttal in their defense. I must say I am so sorry to those who I went against because I was totally wrong. Derek, the owner and Jason, the partner seem like very nice and honest men. Upon research, they are no different than any other person working in this business. I went to school and worked by butt off to get a degree and the fact that they did as well and then come in to use people who are looking for a start just as they did in the beginning, makes them not so good people. I will not sell something I do not believe in and especially will not sell something SUPPOSED to go to charity and only cents actually go to charity. These people must have a very hard time sleeping at night. The only reason I have not been put through the hellish 2nd interview day is because of the people on this site that have informed other prospective employees about the experience. I really did think Advantage Boss Marketing was different because of their pitch, but they are no different. I really feel pity for them. It must take a lot from them and who they are to do this kind of work. Money is the root of all evil and one day, I pray they look back at all those they have hurt, used, manipulated and essentially abused and feel some kind of remorse for the damage they caused. I wanted a job in advertising so bad because I know I would be wonderful at it and really be a bonus to any advertising company; however, sadly I will no longer trust applying for any advertising job again because of these two companies. They have used myself and others and prospective employees cannot apply with 100% confidence because of these kind of companies.
By the way, if you do interview with them, ask to look at the pamphlets they show you to make sure they put them together. You will also see the coupon book you will be selling. This is so sad for those who have worked so hard to get through school and find a reputable job and end up running into these dirt bags. If I had the money, I would open a respectable advertising agency for all of us who have been part of these cons scheme. The fact that I looked these people in the eyes with a heart full of trust truly saddens me. I am so sorry for what I previously wrote. I apologize and wish I could delete it or go back and have never written it.
I am so sorry...

Is that not part of promotions and advertising?

Yes, there are coupon books. However, there are also other aspects that are not mentioned in these comments. There are other ways the company promotes and advertises. On that second day they are starting you at a low level to see your skills. It is an interview to show skills. Anyone can say they are good in sales and advertising, but you also need to prove it. If you cannot sell COUPON books, how are you supposed to sell ticket packages or a new product in a competitive market? So the company makes you go around with their trainers and make you prove your skills. IS that REALLY such a rip off?? Did you really give the company a true chance or just quit after the second interview? I do not wish to offend anyone, but that is my take on this all concerning Advantage Boss Marketing....
