I received a letter from the British Lotto Commission stating that my name was selected from 8,000,000 names and addresses who had previously signed for the North American Sweepstakes. It also stated that I am one of the winners in the Third Category and was to be awarded a lump sum of $165,000 dollars out of the total prize money of $12,000,000.00.

There was a check enclosed with the award letter of $1,890.88 which was to be deposited into my account to pay for tax and a clearance fee in order to receive the remainder of the winnings of $163,109.12. So I called the person and spoke with her and she swore up and down that it wasn't fake, and that I should call her back when the check cleared.

It was to good to be true so I went online and did some research only to find out that it was all a hoax.
