advantage sales & marketing has policy that short term disability payment is overridden by my s.s. retirement benitits. irvine California
had to go on partial disability for 4-8 weeks due to neck surgury. normal pay is 1/2 weekly pay or in my case $235. received 2 checks for $25 so i called cigna insurance and was told that since i receive s.s. retirement that overides the disability amount. called advantage sales & mkt. and was told that is correct. what a ripoff. they don't reduce my normal pay because i receive s.s. retirement. seems like i'm being punished for being over 65 and collecting s.s. retirement. is this legal? i'm being screwed out of $210/wk for 8 weeks and i know no lawyer would bother with such a small case so i am trying alert people to this scam.
