Steven Menendez of "Advice Creative Group" (www.advicecg.com) took our deposit for designing our website in April 2008. We were told 4-6 weeks and we would have a completed original site (not a template). Advice Creative Group advertises that they do not outsource and that they do not use templates. Well, if hiring a group of kids in Peru isn't outsourcing then I don't know what is. We found the half working site that they "designed" for us on a popular website that sells templates. The project went months over deadline and were given the run-around by Steven when he did decide to answer his phone. Most of the time, however, we got his voicemail and/or no response to several emails. In October we finally had to fire Steven Menendez and his "Advice Creative Group" which turned out to be only him. He doesn't know the first thing about webdesign and he relies 100% on hired help in Peru = outsourcing. We never did receive our deposit back.

Beware of Advice Creative Group a.k.a. Steven Menendez Webdesign Miami

#7Author of original report

Tue, March 10, 2009

Steven Menendez of "Advice Creative Group" (www.advicecg.com) replied to my complaint and considering the type of person he is and what his company did to my small business I am not surprised. His apology is not acceptable. He ripped me off.

Steven of Advice Creative Group came to my office many times during the early stages of the project with his laptop and called Peru via Skype to speak to his designer/coder. His company outsources and he is falsely advertising that they are self contained. Rip Off!

Steven's ex-employee called me after reading the rip off report and he apologized for what had happened. He told me that Steven was taking on way too many projects and that he quit (not fired as Steven said) because he was not comfortable taking on so much work knowing that the deadline would never be met. I feel that his employee was honestly sorry for unknowingly deceiving me.

Steven's accusations about me threatening his life are completely false. Although I am upset that I was ripped off, I would never threathen that poor little guy. He's already got enough problems and if you took a look at him you would know what I'm talking about. That's a little off topic though.

I'm glad there's a website like this because, although I will never see my deposit or the website, maybe someone will learn from my misfortune that hiring Advice Creative Group is a bad idea.

I cannot speak by the experience of other but only mine, and I can say advice has provided me a five star service. Down here is south Florida is really difficult to find a web design company that are great design wise as well as programming, never mind customer service.

Before advice I was with a company that never worked on my project for 8 months. I even lost thousands of dollars. When I found Steven it was like sent from heaven, he was able to address all my concerns and explained how will the project develop.

Advice work on my project for 4 months (approx. as estimated). All I can say, it was a great experience, not only it was done to my specifications, they exceeded far beyond our agreement. It was a money well spent don't to the penny.

If I can speak about Steven he has only one problem... He trust people too much and sincerely gives more of what is expected. Please note it was not business strategy, this was a person who honestly gives the best he can as a human being and while you are a client you can't help to become a friend.

In today's business world is very difficult to find companies such as advice, which I gladly recommend every time some one calls my business for reference.

P.S. Because of this is s a topic not related to my business I will not post my website as I don't want google to crawl and associate Rip off Alert with my business.

Regards,

C. Fernandez

Advice Creative Provides Excellent Service & Product

I read the comment posted by "Billyde" and felt compelled to respond. I have been doing business with Steven Menendez and Advice Creative for nearly two years and can say with absolute certainty and confidence that his company is hands-down the best web design company in South Florida. The proof is the website he designed for my law practice. For one year prior to meeting Steven I had extreme difficulty finding a service that could meet my advertsising needs. The instant I met with Steven and saw his work I was sold and have not looked back since. My site is a work of art and blows away all my competitor's websites. I receive nothing but compliments for the work he has done on my behalf. I never hesitate to refer his company to anyone seeking a clean and professional looking website. His designs are crisp, modern and appealing to the eye. He has a wonderful sense of site architecture that make his sites easy to navigate. He has done several sites for me and I am completely happy with the work he has performed. Quite frankly the complaint that his work is outsourced is silly and childish. The product speaks for itself no matter how it is produced. As far as I am concerned the work can be done on Mars. What is the difference if the end results is an excellent product that attracts business. The reader of Billyde's comments should note that he never once said he wan not happy with the look or design of the product that was delivered.
A careful reading of Billyde's complaints reveal that most of it can be attributed to his own irresponsible means of doing business. That is, he has not paid for the services performed. I have spoken to Steven about this client and his job and I have come to learn that this person has a personal vendetta because he wants the work done for no compensation and is attempting to avoid legal action. This person is coming extremely close to committing tortious interference with exisiting business relationships and his commentary borders on being libelous.
Anyone reading his post and go to advicecg.com and see for themselves the quality and level of work that is offered by these very talented web designers.

Advice Creative Group's Rebuttal to Billy from Big10Media.com

#7REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, November 14, 2008

Advice Creative Group would like to apologize to members of Big 10 Media for the misunderstanding that took place during the creative development of their website. To begin, it is important to note that ACG's sales person, who is no longer with the company, had a tendency to underestimate the time it would take to complete a website. Steven Menendez took over the Big 10 project after our sales person was terminated.

At that time, Billy, owner of Big 10 Media, was alerted to the fact that his website would take considerably longer than anticipated. Billy appeared to accept this, and began to proceed with the project. He directed Steven's attention to a competitor's website, and expressed his desire to duplicate that site. Steven explained that ACG could not, in any way, copy the competitor's website. He also explained that ACG does not use prefabricated websites or templates, emphasizing that ACG will always construct a one-of-a-kind website as we have been doing for over ten years. Advice Creative Group's secondary office is located in Peru, and caters to the European and South American accounts while supporting the American office as needed. These being full-time employees who only work for Advice Creative Group, and, for the record, have met all strict requirements for employment with our company. Billy DeCola, being a manipulative person, began asking a number of questions regarding the company, and Steven, being a friendly and honest person supplied, perhaps, too many answers. Billy has now twisted that information to benefit his cause.

ACG does not, and will never, outsource to any other company as this is a risky business. We challenge Billy to provide the website that offers the template that ACG has allegedly utilized. Advice Creative Group completed 95% of Mr. DeCola Big10Media.com website, which he is currently using, when he located a cheaper programmer who would finish that 5% for a nominal fee. The final 50% of Billy DeCola payment was never collected by Advice Creative Group. In fact, ACG hosted the website, and provided the files to Billy DeCola without final payment. When Billy decided that he could finish the project cheaper, although the final 5% was simply troubleshooting, he began threatening the lives of Steven, his wife, and his three-year-old daughter if ACG would not return his initial deposit (regardless of the fact that he was now using those files). A police report was filed against him.

Billy then proceeded to contact 5 of Steven's clients and bad-mouth him, committing slander, and giving Steven a legitimate cause to file a court proceeding against him. Although this was the second website project for Billy, he had the audacity to threaten Steven, and change the password so that ACG could no longer access the work that they had completed. Please see the link below to review the previous website that was completed for Billy. http://www.advicecg.com/artwork/big10media

Please feel free to contact Advice Creative Group regarding this matter.
