Complaint Review: Affiliated Attorneys Lorin M. Schuchardt Attorney At Law

I have recently had a very bad experience with attorney Lorin Schuchardt. He does not respond in a timely manner to emails, calls or pleas to do what you hire him for. I am a former U.S. servicemember with a disability and he took full advantage of me. He even withdrew from my case 3 weeks before an important hearing after I complained that he wasn't doing his job. I said "thanks for nothing" and he replied "certainly!". DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND HIRE SOMEONE ELSE!!!

Thank you for your reply Cera, I'm glad to see others who experienced his horrible service be vocal about it instead of being silent and just "dealing with it".  At the time I didn't know you could do this but you can apparently file an official complaint with the BAR association and get him disbarred or diciplined for mishandling of your case. It's probably too late for me to file such a complaint, but I highly encourage others to do so. It's as if the guy flunked out of law school the way he acts.. very unprofessionally and as if he doesn't know how to actually "file" a case.

Well, after many nightmarish months dealing with Attorney Schuchardt I decided to look up reviews on him and this was the first that came up.  Cannot say that I am suprised.  I am writing just to concer with the previous posters comments on this guy.  Everything said is true. Do not obtain this jerk as your attorney for you BK!  You will for sure regret it.  He does not return phone calls, shows no empathy for you or your personal situation, talks in a non understandable monotone jargan vocabulary, and will not stick up for you what so ever.  He made promises to us about things that he never came through on.  After our first and initial court hearing where the creditors could show up, it was like he fell of the face of the earth and could have cared a less about us or our case.  We have one creditor in particular who is still threatening us after 6 months of being in Chapter 13 and I had to write Attorney Schuchardt a letter about it because he won't return our calls and still nothing to be done even though this creditor is clearly violating the law.  He does not care.  He is full of lies, lies, and more lies.  He will tell you what you want to hear and then after you go to court will not come through on anything that he said he was going to do.  We 100% regret hiring this hack.  With my husbands and I schedules it was hard to even make a meeting with an attorney, so regretfully we hired the first guy that we met with just to get the ball rolling and this is the loser we ended up with.  It has been one problem after the next and we do not know what to do.  There are so many unresolved issues still and open cases on our credit reports that were supposed to be taken care of in the chapter 13.  Lorin REFUSES to meet with us and will not return our calls or letters.  He said once my husbands hours were lowered in the winter that he could modify our payments lower as well.  Well after months and months of trying to get him to do what he said he was going to do, here we are in April and still no change.  I could go on and on about this guy and the problems and greif he has caused us.  My next step is to write a letter to the Bankruptcy court explaining what is going on. We regret this whole thing.  Just trust an honest person when I say do not hire this guy to represent you.  It will for certain be a HUGE mistake. 

Just got a refund check today in the mail for the entire amount paid to him, we didn't even ask for the refund but it seems he realizes he can't handle the case (or any case for that matter), guess he shouldn't have gone to law school by mail! hahaha! It's a good thing tho, we were getting sick of having to call his office just about every day to get him to lift a finger for us, we paid him to sit on his arse basically, it was getting ridiculous. Oh and I love how he outright LIES in his letter to us.

When I had originally emailed him and told him we were no longer going to take off of work and bend our wills to his lame schedule (then have him cancel last second) he replied back that he would INDEED come to our house on our schedule to have us sign the papers, he agreed to this and we thought the end of it. Now in his reply letter I quote: "As indicated to you earlier, I am not willing to come to your house to have you sign the bankruptcy Petition." Ok, I have a real problem with such an OUTRIGHT LIE, First of all we can't figure out what he's talking about "Earlier", since he never indicated *ever* that this was a problem, in fact he agreed to it without argument a few weeks ago. Now all of a sudden out of the blue he's making stuff up to get out of having to "crunch numbers" again and get the paperwork filed.

What a lazy loser of a lawyer. I'm sure there is a special place in hell for this kind of scum. Good riddence we say!

This rip off jerk of a lawyer is STILL causing problems and stalling our case indefinitely!

He's still insisting we have to go thru the credit counseling class over the phone (which costs $50 a person)! All because our certificate expired due to HIM dragging HIS feet! I contacted the service and told them to setup the apt. and bill the lawyer for the amount which they state they don't do and the lawyer has to send them the money directly via check or money order. who the hell knows when he'll *ever* get around to doing that if he does at all! Plus now we have to re-fill out a bunch of paperwork we had already done!!

The lawyer is also trying to "rush" us now all of a sudden because after the 31st (Tomorrow) he'll have to re-do all of our budget information. oh boo h*o, HE will have to do more work because HE is dragging his feet. That's too freaking bad, HE has to lift a finger and actually maybe WORK for once! He's the one that has held us up for 6 months, not returning phone calls and being a general idiot all the way around. His lame excuse for "office helpers" are not much of any help either.

This guy is the epitome of ridiculous. It's obvious to me he earned his law degree via mail or something, because he's a twit who can't even manage simple tasks (such as returning phone calls).

I will be filing a complaint with the BAR Assoc. of Wisconsin about this twit. He SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING LAW!

We had scheduled an appointment for today with this guy to come in and sign the final paperwork. My husband even took off of work special to go in and get it done. The lawyer's office however was extremely pokey in getting back to us to confirm the appointment and finally confirmed it, then the day before the appointment they called and said "Oh your class certificate has expired, it's only good for 6 months, you'll have to re-do the class and get a new certificate".

So now we have to go through ANOTHER phone interview process with a credit management agency to get another certificate, all because these asshats at the laywers office have been DRAGGING THEIR d**n FEET FOR 6 MONTHS!!! Here we finally were ready to sign the final papers and they pull this crap on us? I'm SICK TO DEATH of this scum liar of lawyer and his crap he pulls. And he pulls this a DAY before we had our appointment (and took off special for it). This idiot deserves to get hit by a semi.
