We sold our and our closing date was sit within a few days so the only moving company that could move us with such short notice was Affordable.  We spoke with Brandon who stated he couldn't send anyone out to see the contents of our house but, would look at the pictures on-line and give us a quote. My husband gave Brandon exact measurements of our rooms and exactly every thing we had that needed to be moved requesting a 28 ft truck which Brandon had agreed upon.  He gave us a quote and e-mailed us a contract which we signed and sent back requesting a $1500.00 deposit. We had no problems contacting Brandon until we paid our deposit, after that we could not get anyone on the phone for questions.  The first problem came when they changed the date of pick-up from 6/27 to 6/28.

They arrived on 6/28 @ 1:15 pm to start loading our 3 bedroom house they were suppose to be there @ 8am.  Once they loaded the truck 5-6 hours later only sending 2 guys, the driver, Anthony,  told us the cost would be $8374.00 but our contract had been for $ 6772.55, when we disagreed with the price, Anthony stated he could just unload our furniture and we could find someone else to move us.  By that time our house was sold and the new owners were moving in the next day.  We tried to call Anthony's supervisor, Geovanni, we could not reach him but as soon as Anthony called him Geovanni picked up the phone.  When we spoke with Geovanni he stated that the contract we had signed was just an estimate and the final cost was based on what was loaded in the truck.

We spent appx 45 mins signing paperwork once our furniture was loaded and when we stated the last time we moved we did not have to sign all this paperwork, Anthony stated we must not have dealt with a reputable company we had used Allied Moving Company. We were suppose to receive our furniture on 6/30 but received it on 7/2 because they stopped in Atlanta to do a side job.  When they arrived the unloaded in 2 hours beiing very rough with our belongings.  They refused to accept out final payment in money orders because they were not postal money orders but from our bank.  So they wouldn't unload our furniture for 2 1/2 hours until Anthony finally reached Giovanni who finally agreed to take our money orders.

They took our money orders and the receipts attached to them for some reason. Because it was a Saturday there was no way to go to the bank to get cash.  We did tip the movers because we felt that they were just the workers of the company but when we first spoke with Brandon we had been told that they had their own trucks and didn't sub-contract with others but it didn't seem that way when we tried to speak with Anthony.  We used a credit card for the deposit they refused a credit card for the remaining amount insisting on money orders.

This is the worst moving experience we had ever had, the last 2 moves someone came to the house and the estimate they gave us was what we paid.  I think this company uses people's furniture as hostage to change prices and refuses to give the furniture back until the higher prices are paid.  Then the schedule they give you regarding pick-up and drop off is completely up to them and when they feel like getting to you. The company has 2 addresses the 1 out of Raleigh NC and the other at 2346 Thomas St, Hollywood, Fl 33020. Their US DOT# is 1223973 and ICC/MC is 484560.  This company needs to be investigated for illegal practices. Thank You--Cheryl, Ormond Beach, Fl
