I contacted Affordable Pups in October after loosing my little chihuahua. Everyone I spoke to was more than happy to assist me in finding a new companion. I went to Affordable Pups and was impressed by their staff and facilities. Everything was very clean and the staff was more than friendly. After looking at a few puppies I fell in love with a maltese. The puppy weighed only 1.2lbs when I purchased her so they really encouraged buying the puppy pack with the antibiotics- so I did. The staff seemed very sad to let my new little baby go- encouraging me to text and call with updates as soon as possible. So I texted them multiple times everyday with updates and I always heard back immediately. A few days later my puppy (who I named Moxi) began vomiting. I texted them and they sent me recommendations and told me she was probably just experiencing some stomach upset. I took her to the vet to be sure and they said the same thing. A week went by with her continuing to vomit about every other day. I always texted the staff and I always received a text back with recommendations of what to do. I finally took Moxi back to the vet and they took some xrays and diagnosed her with megaesophagus- a congenital disorder. I immediately texted the staff at affordable pups to give them an update on Moxi since they seemed to truly care about her and I never heard a word back. My vet sent me to Ohio State to get a definitive diagnosis and I again texted the staff at affordable pups to keep them updated and once again, I never heard back. Moxi was definitively diagnosed with congenital megaesophagus in December which means she has to eat sitting up and stay vertical for 30 minutes after she eats. She vomits almost daily as I am still trying to get a handle on this disease. I have texted affordable pups multiple times to let them know about Moxi's disease since I was under the impression that they cared about the puppies they sold. I also thought they should know since it is a genetic disease so they could discontinue breeding her parents. I have still yet to hear from affordable pups. I never asked for money for vet bills or for a refund for my puppy- I just wanted to let them know that they were selling sick puppies that were supposed to be vet checked and healthy. They obviously do not care about the puppies they sale nor can they guarantee the health of their puppies. I am under the impression that they are still allowing Moxi's parents to breed so beware if you are searching for a Maltese!

For those of you that care- Moxi is doing very well! We are struggling to get some weight on her as she still has trouble keeping food down. She is finally up to 1.14lbs! (Which is a major achievement if you are familiar with megaesophagus) I feed her 3-4 times a day in a highchair. My life absolutely revolves around her! I will not let this disease control what she can and cannot do- she loves to play and be a typical puppy! I am determined to make her possibly shortened life full of love and happiness and in the end I wouldn't change a thing!
