Affortable water heaters and plumbing $150 job was charges $453. Valencia, California
This morning 2/2/13 the pilot of our water heater is out and we couldn't get it to light. Called a number posted on the heater, $85 plus parts, but they were busy until tomorrow. So we called the other number posted on the heater (the biggest mistake). They said someone could come in the afternoon. It's $99 plus parts. Anxious to get hot water back, I asked them to send someone.
The guy came and said the theomocouple is broken, but need to chnage the whole kit since the part theomocouple is not available anymore. We were aware the theomocouple should cost less than $10, but not sure about kit. The guy called mamager and we were given a quote of $537 for the job. Shocked at the price, he give us AAA discount, it comes to $453. Confused we took the offer and were rushed to sign many papers. The kit was replaced in about half hour. Pilot is lighted and we were told we would get hot water in 45 mins.
Right after we went Ace to get some stuff, notice Ace has theomocouple. Getting suspicious, we looked up the this company, find so many complaints. Also find the kit at Lowe for $30.
I really believe the company shouldn't allow to operate. I never wrote a review or report. But decide to register and wrote this. Only worry that people will find out only after being ripped off already.
