While I'm sure AFLAC is a legitimate company and a leader in their field, I'm disappointed in the way they try to recruit their sales agents. I received an e-mail from a someone with a very unusual name saying he had seen my resume on Monster.com and that AFLAC had job opportunities. I went to what I thought was an interview only to sit through a "group interview" for slightly over an hour. This was a pitch to join AFLAC as an insurance salesperson with pay based only on commission! While I'm sure that some people make a good living this way, I feel I was tricked into attending this "interview" thinking it was for a position compatible with the skills listed on my resume. I am seeking an IT position and have no interest in sales! I lost close to three hours of my time, including my commute time. But the worse part was the disappointment I felt when I realized it was not a position that I am seeking. This is a deceptive practice that job seekers need to be aware of.
