AFNI AFNI uses copy of old statement from 5 years ago to claim "debt" FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD bloomington, Illinois
AFNI claimed I had a debt with T-Mobile. I asked for validation of this so-called debt. AFNI found an old statement from a T-Mobile account I had cancelled 5 years ago, and sent it to me as "validation." This old statement showed a balance of over $700, which was not shown as past due on the statement. I never received this statement from T-Mobile. I did dispute inappropriate charges by T-Mobile 5 years ago, and T-Mobile agreed to credit my account since these inappropriate charges were due to vendor errors. This was taken care of 5 years ago. AFNI is now claiming this is an "unpaid debt" and is harassing me, trying to force me to send them money I do not owe. I am reporting them to the Illinois Attorney General's office today (after I found out they are doing this to others ... thank you RipOff Report!) and I am contacting the BBB. If they contact me again and try to collect this bogus debt, I will file a claim against them for violations of the FDCPA. It's $1,000 per violation, paid to the person being harrassed! Don't let them get away with this. Report them if they do this to you.
