Afni Inc Bogus "Settlement Offer" . . BOGUS BILL! Bloomington, Illinois
Afni Inc. contacted me on a phone number I don't even remember having. From 8 years ago. Claiming they had "pertinent information to prove the validity of the debt"
When I asked why I was just now receiving any notice of this. Afni said they had just received the collections from Verizon.
I phone Verizon Northwest, and they suggested we DISPUTE this bill!! That Verizon doesn't even have those records to their disposal. That bills that far back would have been archived a long time ago!
The credit bureaus don't show the debt, and the originator doesn't show the debt, so what is Afni doing with the money they collect?
Don't pay!! Trust your gut! When's the last time your phone company let you go 8 years before asking you for money?
What a joke!

8 years ago it probably wasn't verizon. verizon probably purchased the company that actually had it 8 years ago. and when verizon gives a debt to afni they transfer all records over to afni so of course they won't see you any more. It was probably with other collection agencies before afni. It won't hit your credit report if it was from 8 years ago and they're NOT going to take you to court. if you really didn't create the debt then just file fraud with afni. afni is a member of the bbb.
