Complaint Review: AFS Accent Food Service Discount Java

Today, I watched an African American student, an elderly white man and two Hispanic students and several others put their money in a vending machine here at the Austin Community College. The machine is located in Bldg. 2000 and is #03 and located on the Eastview campus! Today is 13 Nov 2006.

If you get ripped off by these sorry vending machines on any of the Austin Community College campus locations, you can go to the campus manager's office and get your money back but it is such a hassle that many students, faculty, hourly employees and staff members don't bother!

This means 100 percent profit for the vending machine company!
AND ZIP FOR ANYBODY STUPID ENOUGH TO TRY TO GET THE PRODUCT FROM THEIS LOUSY CANDY & SNACK VENDING MACHINES!

I have experienced their vending machines at 5500 N. Lamar Street Bldg K; the Rio Grand campus of Austin Community College; the Eastview Campus of Austin Commmunity College, the Worksource Center at Airport Blvd., the Riverside campus of Austin Community College and almost every place I see a vending machine in Austin, Texas.

P.S. My complaint is with Accent Vending aka AFS Accent Food Service, Inc. and NOT Discount Java. I would like to state that I have NO problem with Discount Java apparently owned by the same corporation and I have had had NO dealings with them either.

Today, there was an older man who was having problems with his blood sugar and needed some candy fast and it was one of these machines that he put his money in. No candy. He tried to beat on the machine but he was too weak, I was unable to help him so I called the company at 2:52 p.m. Central Standard Time. A lady answered and I told her " Ma'am. I would like to file a complaint about one of the vending machines.!"

Before I could complete the location of the vending machine , THE RUDE B** HUNG UP ON ME!
APPARENTLY YOU CAN'T COMPLAIN TO THESE PEOPLE....

The only thing that is listed on the machines is ACCENT VENDING --and if you try to look it up in the regular phone book, NO SUCH ESTABLISHMENT EXISTS!IF you bother to look it up in the criss-cross directory, it comes up AFS Accent Food Service Inc.

Apparently they want it to be very hard to find the name of their business to file a complaint and then they WILL NOT TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR SORRY MACHINES!
At least when the Mafia had the vending machines, they kept them operational because COMPLAINTS ARE BAD FOR BUSINESS!

So whoever owns this company: you had better do something about the maintenance on these vending machines since the RUDE B** who answers your phones didn't let me tell you that whoever is supposed to be repairing and keeping your machines operational is NOT doing the job!

UNLESS YOU WANT PEOPLE TO BE RIPPED OFF using YOUR machines.

This has been a problem every since I came to Austin and started trying to use your sorry vending machines.

I WAS able to get my money back from the Austin Community College vending machines but was NOT able to get it back from the other two locations I previously mentioned.

They are also not posting price signs over all products at all locations --- and on the soda machines, what you see on the label is not necessarily what you will get when you put your money in and push the button ---assuming that you will get ANYTHING!

Hey, you with these VENDING MACHINES: If I see anyone ripped off by these machines, I will go to the Comptroller's Office and the Texas Secretary of State's offices and I will mention your name.... Because I intend to post the owners of this company RIGHT HERE on RIP-OFF REPORT if they don't do something about their sorry machine maintenance!
