I recently got married and had the horrible eperience of using After Hours Formal Wear. Initially, we had to change the order from a four button tuxedo to a three button tuxedo at our request. We put the orders in a month and a half before the wedding date. The tuxedos arrived 2 days before the wedding!

So on Thursday, the grooms tuxedo and two of the four groomsmens tux's arrived as four button tuxedos. One of the father's vests was the wrong color. Most of the items were the wrong size.

Everthing was handled nonchalantly. The employees were more interested in lunch than in helping the customers. Ok Friday, the grooms tuxedo arrives but is the wrong size, one father's tux is still the wrong size. THIS IS ON FRIDAY. THE WEDDING IS TOMORROW! So the one of the employees agrees to pick up the order that night and deliver it to us Sat. am. Keep in mind the wedding party lives 30 minutes away. So finially the order was delivered on Saturday. The grooms tux fit, however the sleeves were too long, buttons were missing off vests, etc. It was a cluster F...

I understand when mistakes are made. Everyone is human. But to make the same mistakes three days in a row is unacceptable. The fact that no one seemed to care really made us mad. We were never offered to be compensated for their mistakes. I will never ever use this company again. This is a little different than a prom - you only get married once.

Respecting your contract... it's just not a real complaint.

I am an employee of After Hours Formalwear and I firmly believe in our company policies. There are many complaints in this report that is not specific enough to be a valid complaint. Each customer signes a contract with us and we explain things such as the tuxedo arrival date, as well as each customer should be present when picking up the tuxedo for a proper final fitting.

If you are not happy with either of these statements, then the customer should address them BEFORE leaving the store. At this point the associate should have also informed you that your wedding was in the middle of prom season and your wedding party should be fitted as soon as possible. A month and a half may seem like a long time, but usually arrangements should be made 6 months in advance. We do have a lot of customers and mistakes can be made with anything done in a hurry.

As far as wrong sizes, was the coat/pants/shirt the wrong size completely, or did it fit in the shoulder and not the torso? Unfortunitally, when renting a tuxedo we can not talyor each tux exactly to each body figure, that would be when you would have to buy a tuxedo. If the sleeves were too long that tell me that that customer was not present for their final fitting, sleeve and pant adjustments can be made in the store (this is also were you would check the buttons and colors) The word ETC is NOT specific enough complaint to be on a web site like this because, it's just not a real complaint.

I do apologize for your incomvience, and for the employee making you feel as though they did not care. On the other hand if you had violated your contract in anyway, there is not much we can do for you. This is the reason why we have contracts. I do hope if you ever rent a tuxedo again you will do it in a more timely, organized, and informed manner.
