Agency.eight.nine waste of money, complete waste of time and confidence Omaha Nebraska
Well, I am warning all of you out thier about the dangers of Agency 89.
Agency 89 is the modeling agency located in Omaha that charges you 3,000 dollars for no reason.
The process begins when you attend an open call. They take you into an office after you walk the runway a little and then they examine your complexion, and tell you that you are beautiful, and that they would love to have you represent thier agency.
They RIGHT THEN place a contract in front of you and (I'M NOT LYING) say that if you do not sign and pay the 3,000 up front thier is a good chance they will give away your spot at the agency.
If you fall for the trap, and pay the 3,000 they will tell you when your first model class starts. They give you homework, and teach you nothing usefull. (How to walk, how to wash face, brush hair properly)
Courtney (Agent) will then speak model-ese and begin announcing everything in some kind of seprate language.
"... and the model board will be thier at fashion forward, tryouts vary please be thier for promotion. The tryouts will be at five and thursday. For the show please contact breath leader, practice announced later but be there, I expect the model march to have began keep blah blah blah..."
Unless you have been at the agency for several years, then when she announces your oppertunities, you have no idea what she is saying.
For example, right after you sign, she will try and convince your parents that to enhance your eligibility for certain events, then sponsorships and donations are requested.
I made the FIRE-N-ICE show and didn't even know it! I got a call one day asking why I had missed practice, and that I was being watched, however, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW! And I didn't even tryout, or ask for it. I just got a call for why I magically didn't know I was supposed to show up.
Of course you would think that a model could make money off of things like photo shoots and fashion shows, but no. You do not get paid at all, in fact YOU pay THEM to be there.
Also, if whoever has been signed is not old enough to drive, then the parents of the model will be making a big commitment to be at the agency approx. 3 or 4 times a week. NOT kidding. Courtney will expect you to show up at everything. And she plans several events PER DAY.
Also when joining take in to account the fact that all the people at the agency know each other, and all of the models are clique-y. They whisper about you when you are new and you have no idea what is going on. A rather major confidence destroyer. I cried after my first night.
I hope that when joining Agency 89 you do not expect fame, confidence, or even money, because what you will get is poor and stressed from the imperfect you (whether it be skin, complexion, hair style or color, or weight, or height), and spending all of your free time being rejected.
Beware.
