It all started with a professional sounding female calling to offer me a 7-day free trial travel package. I was told that I was only being contacted with hopes that I would review the material and if it didn't interest me I could cancel my free trial so that I wouldn't be billed the "one time $149.00 startup fee".

I have no idea how she had it, but she managed to have nearly ALL of my personal information on hand! At the time, I figured it was no big deal because I had every intention of cancelling my free trial as soon as I recieved it in the mail.

I live in California and this organization operates out of Florida. The package did eventually arrive but not before I discovered, through my online banking statements, that I had already been billed $149.00. When confronted about it, they claimed that it was sent priority mail and that I should have had plenty of time to cancel the membership before I was billed. LIES! He did, though, tell me that he would be more than happy to refund me the entire $149.00 if I sent in some information along with a cancellation code I was given over the phone.

I sent it in and waited for a week or so and recieved no reply as to wether or not the membership was indeed cancelled or that my refund was on the way. I decided to wait another week so as to not jump to conclusions. No refund, no reply.

I called them back today and I have been told that it was sent out 5 business days ago and that I can expect to receive it in another 5 business days. I'm not getting my hopes up.

I had called the other affiliates and cancelled those free trial memberships before they were able to bill me. I'm not quite sure if the requests for cancellation went through, though. I have been getting multiple non-sufficient funds fees over the past 2 weeks due to my withdrawing of money without my knowlege of the $149.00 they took out. The NSF fees, alone, total $153.00!! My bank issued me a reversal for the first $62.00 because they have dealt with this particular scam before. It has been a week since then and I have aquired 3 more NSF fees totalling up to the tune of $99.00 due to the fact that I am still waiting for my refund to arrive. I hope I can get all those extra fees waived too. Could they be occuring due to the other companies neglecting to cancel my "free trial memberships"?
