Complaint Review: Agusta William and Tamela Wickens

Augusta William replied to my ad on craigslist. She agreed to purchase furniture I posted for $200. She said she would arrange to send a check by Fed EX to my address and but then sent another email stating that her secretary had mistakenly wrote a check for $2000. She instructed me to wire the difference to a Tamela Wickens. I first said no and that I would send the money back but because of a move to Japan just a few days away I decided to send the money via Fed Ex. I was given a phone number but no one ever answered. The check I recieved is from NorthWestern University. Refcently I noticed that there was $2000 missing from my banking account and when enquired about it I was told that there was a stop payment on the check. I was charged for that amount.  

I saw another report on these people, since I was scammed is there a way to fight this?

Here is a email I recieved:

please send the money to Tamela via Western Union and get back to me.There is nothing i can do at the moment until the the furnitures are moved and the fund with you is what is causing the delay. If you think you cannot wait for the mover to come over anymore, please still send money back to..If you change your mind for the mover to come tomorrow afternoon please get back to me.
