Complaint Review: Ahern and Associates Ltd

Since, during my interview, Mr. Ahern was adamant on the success of his company, I decied to do research after my interview. This has two purposes: to formally submit a complaint, and to put the facts of the situation on record. The subject of my complaint is the treatment I received on September 10, 2010 by Mr. Ahern a/k/a Andy Ahern.  I was aware that he was a type "A" personality, since I was forewarned by Brian Haley, his VP, but talk about "patting" yourself on the back. 

During my interview, Mr. Ahern could not stop talking about how he has made his company a success. I agree, he is a very successful man.  Then here is my first cmplain:  Mr. Ahern could not stop talking about his employees?  Mr. Ahern was so "demeaning" about his employees?

Brian has been at Ahern for 16 years, he left thinking he could make it in the real estate, but came back, because he did not have that "niche." Mr. Ahern did indicate to me that Brian is not doing his job as he used to, and that down the road the person he hires could probably be trained to take over his position.  Mr. Ahern talked about how his Office Manager/Assistant who has been with him for 8 years, and how he has sent her and her family to so many places, including Hawaii, and how sometimes she does not appreciate it, but he understands her kind. Mr. Ahern spoke about a Hoopes employee, how he was broke and came back. Mr. Ahern spoke about a lady that he sued, because she stold files, went behind his back to work for another company he introduced her too, he sent her to many vacations. Mr. Ahern spoke spoke about his family, in him raising his children and they are successful, like him as well. I could continue going into detail about everyone else Mr. Ahern talked to me about, but it is no use.  The best one, "well I used to have a young black man working here, but he was an aspiring rapper, but of course when you are in your 30s who is going to make it in the show biz."  Here is an eye opener, if you have a dream follow it no matter how long it takes you!

I am young, bi-racial, dedicated and outstanding individual.  I have confidence and exhibit the highest work ethics and treat everyone with updo respect.  I don't understand what Ahern & Associates policy is about harrasment, but that interview seemed more about him talking about himself than about the company.  I would not ever want to work at a company or for a man like Ahern.  After reading, all of these rip off reports on this company, and man, it is true.  Everyone is quiet, there is no fun, it seems he is the "micromanger" of the company.  Brian an upbeat individual until Mr. Ahern comes in; now I understand what Brian meant when he talked to me about Mr. Ahern's personality.   

In our interview, Mr. Ahern claimed how busy he is, then maybe he should take care of all the deals himself, since he complains about his employees, and never has nothing nice to say about them.  Mr. Ahern talked about how he donates to several charities. Mr. Ahern did say, that he is a "straight shooter", and tells it how it is, then why doesn't Mr. Ahern tell his employees what he said about them?  Mr. Ahern talked about how he has hired several other people to market and advertise for him, and how he has done this internet thing that is big.  Can you say PSYCHO!

Last, Mr. Ahern talked about the trucking companies, on how he got his big break from Malone. Malone was so impressed with the "lil" guy that opened doors everywhere else.  Mr. Ahern claims his power to himself, and said that no body can do what he does, and if anybody ever tries to do anything behind his back he will sue them.  Mr. Ahern talked to me about a couple of companies that he has sued, and has always won.  Is an interview about the company or about trying to scare an possible employee about Ahern's power?  Can you say you need to see a psychologist?  Ahern has alot to talk about, whether personal or work related, but they are issues.

There are several reports about him stealing people's retirement plans, and not saving their companies as stated.  If you "google" Andre W Ahern you will find one about him having to pay restitution of $1.466 million for mail fraud.  Mr. Ahern did tell me that he was an ex-con, but that he did not do anything wrong.  Leopards don't change their spots!
