AHMSI ,American Home Mortage Servicing, Inc. This is not a home loan agency. It is a debt collection agency, out to steal your home! They should go to jail for fraud. Orange California
We were never late on payments for our home or behind for well over a year to this agency. It was not until we asked for a reduction in our interest rate that were told that they were a debt collection agency. and not a home loan agency as we were led to think. (They bought our loan for Option One.) Not only that we were told that if we were to become late we must file a hardship application and this was not ness. going to be approved. Our mortage was sold to this company, and we assumed them to be legit.
To my horrow and suprize I found out that we are in the group of home owners who have been ripped off by persons out to steal our home. These people should be investigated and sent to jail for loan sharking. I always thought they we were protected by the Government from this type of out right thief. No one speaks correct English so I am left to think that they have come here with their pockets full of oil money and are buying up everything in the U.S.A. sending us to the poor house legally. This is war of a diffrent kind and someone should stop it at once. I am mad as hell over this.

I too tried to engage in a modification back in Nov.08. and listened to the debt collection recording. I spoke to a girl with an India dialect who had no idea of what I was calling about. She had to ask her manager to explain my request. She said I needed to fax over hardship and docs. I faxed over everything to tax department with cover page titled "attention retention department" since the fax number she gave and listed was disconnected. When I called back two weeks later for an update, the first male India person I spoke to just sat there with no idea to what I was calling about. He transfered me to another male India person who just sat there as well. Very frustrating and rude. The second guy winded up saying I never sent them anything. Dec. I hired a loan mod. co. which just ripped me off. Jan. is when I found the website section on A.H.M.I. retention fill out forms. Being late for the first time in Feb. 09 I got the call from India demanding payment. I told her I requested a loan mod. and would like to speak to someone in the retention department. She said if you make a payment today I will forgive the late fees and connect you. So I made the payment. She hung up on me. I made several calls back trying to get a human voice with no such luck. Furious again and almost out of money, I went to the bank to place a stop payment. It did'nt work because the amount I requested stop payment for was'nt accurate. She reinstated the late fees. So this all proves you have to be in foreclosure in order to get a response from A.H.M.S.I. Since now, out of money, I'm three months behind letters. After two months being late is when I got an actual letter from A.H.M.S.I.
But lately I've been reading about modifcations going thru so this story will just get denied.
If they just would have responded as a bank since my docs state "A.M.H.S. A BANK" and not A.M.H.S. a debt collection agency. I may have been able to resolve this in Nov. Funny thing is when I called in 07 requesting pre-pay penalty to be removed for I could sell this house. I spoke directly to a American woman who explained I have a two year pre-pay in the note I can't get out of. A.M.H.S.I. must of had decided to toy with their business tittle at a later date.
