Having had a AHS warranty for nearly a year, and having had to use it three times, each being a nightmare, I have decided someone needs to do something about the way they conduct business.

Being in a highly regulated industry I find it unconscionable how this company does business. The lies and deception perpetrated on the consumer are beyond believe.

Today they tried to replace my stainless steel range hood with a cheap painted hood. Then the rep tried to tell me it was stainless steel under the paint.

I am sick of the lies and the way they cheat those who believe them. If you have been cheated by AHS - especially relating to replacing a product with an inferior one I would be interested in hearing from you. (((ROR REDACTED PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR SECURITY PURPOSES))

The truth about all Home Warrantys

I am a HVAC service tech and have been working home warranty claims for a couple of years. The truth is that all of these companys are like having a HMO health care plan, and if a doctor bills the hmo insurance to much money you know what happens? Yeah thats write they quit giving him pateints.

It is the same way with home warranty companys, bill them to much and they stop giving us calls. These warranty companys are destroying the service industry!
The way they are doing this is because they write thousands and thousands of policys and it useless for a service company to spend 30k or more on advertising because so many people have a policy you will not get enough response off of the asvertisement to justify the cost.

Alot of the policy holders think the service tech is bad, but they do not realize that if we repaired or replaced equipent on every claim we would be so far over the limit that the warranty company has set none of the warranty companys would send us work and my boss would loose his company and me and the rest of the employees would be unemployeed.

It is my opinion that it is just a numbers game to the warranty company and they are not concerned with policy holders problems. The more money in their corporate account at the end of each month the more intrest they earn for Ceo's to put in their personal bank account.
