Receives a letter which appears to have originated in Ireland.  Letter notifies me I am a 2nd Place winner in the second catagory of the USA Mega draw held on Jan. 6, 2016   I am told I have won $250,000.00 in this international sweepstake which I never entered.  I'm advised to contact my claims agent Eric Mendez at 1-877-750-4952 reguarding procedure for activating mywinning check.  Also enclosed was a check in the amount of $2,950.00.  The letter stated that this was to help pay for the $$2,500.00 processing fee.  The Check has the names of actual financial institutions on it.  AIG Federal Savings Bank P.O. Box 2425 Houston TX 77252-2425 and the BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware Wilmington, Delaware .  The check is of course worthless, but looks very official.

I am going to ask the Post Office if this constituted mail fraud.
