On or about August 20, 2019 Aimee Cakebread alegedly committed fraud by purchasing two show/champion lined Cocker Spaniels from a show breeder (Cheryl Brown, Che-Lee Cockers) in Georgia under a false name.  Aimee drove over 1300 miles from Le Mars, Iowa to Byron, Georgia to purchase the two dogs.  Aimee presented herself as Jamie Goodier and fruaduantly signed paperwork using a false name.

Perhaps because she was not able to purchase the champion lined dogs using her own name.   Aimee breeds the Merle line and registers them with the AKC kennel name Aj’s.  She markets them with the name Cakebread Cockers.  Many in the show community do not want their lines bred with a Merle therefore they will not sell or trade with Aimee.

After the transaction was completed Aimee drove back to Iowa and bragged to a friend about what she had done.  The friend contacted the original breeder of one of the dogs sold to Aimee (Lisa Bowers of Bow-Ks Cockers) and shared the information she received from Aimee.

On 8-28-19 Lisa posted a description of the entire event on her Facebook page, including text messages asking the Cocker community to help by sharing the post.  The post was shared on other pages and the show cocker community demanded action.

Lisa and Cheryl intended to press charges for fraud and had contacted local authorities.  Cheryl's property contains security cameras and footage was available to support the allegations.  When faced with her 'mistake' Aimee agreed to return the two dogs if no charges were pressed and the original post on Facebook was removed.  Lisa removed the post on her Facebook page however the post had been shared on Linda Jacob's Facebook page.  Linda refused to remove the post until the dogs were returned.

Aimee, pretending to Jaime began texting Linda and threatening her with police action if Linda did not remove the post from Facebook.  Linda refused to remove the post.

On 9-2-19 Cheryl Brown drove from Georgia to Iowa (Aimee’s home) to retrieve the dogs from Aimee Cakebread.  Lisa posted pictures of the two dogs in Cheryl’s car on their way back home.

The original posts describing what Aimee/Jamie still remains on Facebook.

Aimee Cakebread has several accounts on Facebook.  The Cakebread Cockers account is where she posts her litters for sale:
