Ain't It Good Productions For IMTA Scam Ain't It Good Productions IMTA Scam Idaho
My review of Ain't It Good Productions is that it is seriously over priced and provides mediocre training. They promise that there are some big entertainment companies at the IMTA event but the event is really too small for the big companies to be interested. They tell you need to cough up about $5,000 dollars not counting air fare to the event. The actual entry fees are not that expensive all the rest is all profit. They have hundreds of people doing the same acting scenes. They basically teach you how to kiss the a*s of producers and agents. The company, in my opinion is incredibly self absorbed and controlling. I found they have extremely rude and sassy customer service people.
The bottom line is if you got the money AIGP think's you've got the talent. They claim they will help you with a lot of types of personal development but it's all so superficial that it's really not worth the money. You could read a book and get the same. The instructors in the various areas are incredibly mediocre. It's clear they are there to justify the cost. IMTA is incredibly over rated. There are other and better ways to get into the entertainment industry.
After IMTA was all over, myself and my class mates all felt the same in that it wasn't worth it.
One last, note. I have googeled this company a few weeks ago and had found some discussion boards criticizing AIGP. I have recently checked back on these discussion boards to find the whole discussions removed. Censorship is unAmerican. Consumers have a right to express their opinion about their experience. Clear evidence of being "controlling" as I said.

First of all I don't understand how people even fall for these scams. If you do even a little research on Google you'll find exactly what they're all about. You don't need to spend money to get signed by a legitimate agency. I know plenty of girls who have been signed who never had to attend modeling schools. In fact, most agencies hate taking on models who've attended Barbizon and similar schools because they have to retrain them completely.
Shoot, even folks on Model Mayhem frown on Barbizon "models", and that's a mostly freelance community.
Need more proof?

Oh, and to Dartanian, these sentences:
"I am a close friend of the family and have done many events with the company."
and:
"And I have no personal interest in covering the company's butt, so you cant use that excuse again."
completely contradict each other. Wanna think that one through one more time?

I am a close friend of the family and have done many events with the company. The training is not mediocre. Acting classes are expensive wherever you are, weathr its with AIG or CDY or any other locan company. And you can't say that she doesn't do anything. She goes weeks at a time without seeing her family because of her job. And she can adress you because she remembers her students, and knows who they are and who would be as rediculous as you are being. There are plenty of other very satisfied people that attend her classes and go to IMTA. And I have no personal interest in covering the company's butt, so you cant use that excuse again.

First of all they do not guarantee call backs and no they do not have 100% call backs.
Sandy doesn't even know who she's taking to so how can she respond to me.
And of course she's going to plug her business on this board and say all that. She wants people to do this.
And yes, my classmates were not thrilled with the outcome they told me so. They won't tell Sandy anything negative because Sandy doesn't want to hear the truth. She bands negative talk from her class but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. She's just blind to it.
She's not the one who has to go through the process. She just collects your money.

Report not even close to the truth
#5REBUTTAL Owner of company

There are too many facts relating to Ain't It Good Productions (AIGP) that prove the information provided by Madmax is a lie. I know who you are, BTW, and I know you didn't like IMTA because you were overwhelmed by New York and all the people who were there (you own words, in writing, in our last day notebook). It makes sense since you come from a small town in Washington.
1. AIGP received over $100,000 in scholarship money for my talent from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. They give AIGP private auditions because they know my talent is well prepared and trained beyond what the average development center does.
2. We have 100% callbacks at IMTA and the MAJORITY of the people I take get signed with agents and/or managers. I continue to work with people even after IMTA until they do get signed. They do have to continue to call me for me to work with them (Madmax didn't contact me after IMTA) in order for me to help them, but I am there, willing to help.
3. The event (IMTA) is too small? Not even close to the truth. You can go onto the IMTA website (www.IMTA.com) and see a list of the people who attend. January of 2008 there were 513 agents and managers and in July there were 525 agents and managers. They are listed on the IMTA site and it is easy to prove this as truth. And, these agents and managers represent the top models and actors of the industry. I work directly with Alicia Key's Producer (he is now working with 2 of my people from IMTA NY 2008). Elijah Wood's manager still attends, as does Ava Longoria's agent and manager, Ashton Kutcher, Katie Holms...the list is huge. They have been attending this event for 20+ years, looking for more talent. To say the event wasn't large means either you slept through the whole thing or you are intent on trying to shine a false light.
4. My company is controlling....you bet! That is why I produce great talent. I make sure I know what you are wearing while you are there, how you look, we practice interviewing techniques, how to answer questions. I can't let someone who is happy to wear jeans and a plaid, flannel shirt show up in New York or LA and expect them to do well. If you want a job in this industry, you have to dress the part, be smart and know how to interact with others. Thanks for this compliment because to teach and to guide means I need to make sure you change from your back country living to keep up with the styles of LA and NY.
5. $5000 and most of that is profit? Your kidding, right? You can get to IMTA for as little as $3000 or as much as $6000, depending on what you want to do. If you are going just as an actor, the fees are lower, but if you go as an actor, model, singer and dancer, the cost is higher because there are more tools you need, more training and you have to pay for all the competitions at IMTA. Everyone who works with AIGP gets a menu item so that you can see where your money goes. IMTA fees can get expensive if you CHOOSE to do all the competitions, all the Team Events, go to all the banquets, etc. The real expense comes from staying in the New York Hilton for 9 days. Get on line and look at the rates for the rooms. Wow! Then there are also the costs of running a business...curriculumn costs, coaches fees...the list of expenses goes on.
I keep my costs down as much as possible. I hold classes in places where I don't have to pay rent, nor do I have to pay for a franchise fee like Barbizon does, so my fees are the lowest to attend IMTA than anyone else who goes there.
The cost comment is such an ignorant statement. Madmax, do you really think those coaches who helped you work for free? Part of the cost is profit....I'm in business to make money. But not a lot, that's for sure.
6. You are wrong about your classmates not liking IMTA. Many of them have written me letters of appreciation and have gone on to do things in this business.
7. As for the discussion board....you are right, there was a discussion board and when my AIGP students found out what they were saying, they all wrote in, as did some agents I work with, to dispute the comments that were being made, so they took the discussion board down because of all the feedback they were getting. I didn't participate in this discussion board.....I didn't need to. There were so many people coming to my defense.
You see, these boards are meant to bring out the truth, not to simply hide behind a fake name and complaint that is unsubstantial. When the administrator of the board saw all the comments, she took the thread down because she realized the original comment was false.
My company is registered with the Better Business Bureau and I have a great rating. People like my company and they find value in what I do.
Madmax, you just want to complain and you've filled your report full of non-truths. And on top of that, you hid behind a false name. That's sad.
I choose to go to IMTA because I have such great results. I too have to pay to get inside the IMTA doors so it isn't a free ride for me. If I didn't get good results, I wouldn't go to IMTA. There are so many other events out there. But I use IMTA as a tool to get what I want...my people signed with the top agents and managers in the industry. I had a young boy last year sign with Hillary Duff's manager and he's been working ever since then. But, he's had to work hard to make it happen.
