Responded to a very misleading ad advertising "Whole House Package Deal Air Duct Cleaning."

A large number of homes in Florida have two A/C units to service the 'whole house.' The fine print indicated the special "Gold Promotion $79" fee applied only to one of the two A/C units.

Fine print also indicated "unlimited vents per A/C unit" implying that each vent is individually cleaned. Not so: a vacuum hose is connected to only one vent and there was not enough suction to cause detectable air movement in at other vents.

The technician found the blower in our downstairs unit to be quite dirty with powdery dust. I agree it should/must be cleaned. The fan unit was removed, washed with some acid and water and replaced...all taking less than an hour of labor. The charge: $299.....very expensive hourly rate labor!

The technician found what he felt was some living organizms in the upstairs air handler and recommended the unit and ducts be sanitized. Again, I agreed, thinking this would be a big deal and good to get done. It probably was very good to get done, but not at all a very good deal: A purifying agent was sprayed into the return duct for a few minutes and the unit left off for about 30 minutes. The fine mist suggests that not much chemical was required labor was less than 15 minutes (add 45 minutes for overhead) and what was about an hour's work max cost $249.

Use your own judgement, but I will never respond to mailers or web solicitations again without first doing an internet search on the company. Had I seen the other RipOff reports on Air Care Solutions before I scheduled their visit and agreed to their services, I would not have made the appointment.

Buyer beware!
