Complaint Review: Air & Land Vacations

On or around April 14, 2003, my husband and I received a proposed itinerary informing us of our options to take our trip to Orlando Florida. Shortly after, we mailed a checklist requesting that a representative call us to discuss options for upgrading our trip to a time that would better suit our needs; however, as I sit and write this letter, we have still not received that call and little did we know that this was a scam.

Our hopes were that we would be able to utilize this vacation package for our wedding anniversary, which has come and gone. However, since we were not granted this opportunity, we requested that MVI organization mail us a refund check in the amount of two hundred and ninety eight dollars ($298.00). One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) that we were to sow in good faith, and one hundred and ninety eight dollars ($198.00) that was paid for traveling during the peak season.

It saddened us that we had to make other plans for our short getaway; however, we had no idea that MVI's promise was a scam. We wrote two letters to MVI requesting a response regarding this trip, but we have received no response. In addition, it bothers us that now MVI can contact us via mail or telephone and you don't, but the only way that we have to contact them is via mail to a processing department.

All we want is our $298.00 and for everyone who has been scammed to be compensated.

NOTE: Rip-off Report launched a complete investigation on this particular situation and found that Mini Vacations had no control over promises another company makes when marketing their vacation coupons. Even though Mini Vacations is not responsible for another company's actions, they have been giving FULL refunds to anyone who has contacted them, and has even given more than they should have in the name of good customer service
