I just bought a house that was 4 yrs old and had been vacant for 1 yr prior to moving in. I called Air Rescue about 6 months ago and joined a membership program that costed me 15.00 per month and would save me 20% if ever I needed repairs.
Last month, they arrived to do a free courtesy 6 month inspection of my AC as part of my membership. He looked over everything and gave me a great evaluation. He then went up into the attic and opened up my AC unit. He advised me I had mold and bacteria in my unit. He further asked " Is your daughter getting sick and have you noticed her getting sick in the last few months". He told me I needed 2 "Boicide" tubes and that each tube would cost me 1400.00. He advised that would kill the bacteria in my AC unit. He further advised he could just clean my AC for 500.00.
Prior to leaving he dissasembled my outside unit advised me I would need a Contactor relay for 266.00.
I got a second opinion and called (((competitor's name redacted))) who was the best ! He advised me the Biocide tubes are way cheaper and gave me some examples. He further cleaned my AC unit and and changed my contactor relay for $45.00. In all I spent 120.00 total.
I was educated by (((redacted))). I felt deceived by AC rescue and will never recommend them. Since then I have looked into Biocide tubes and noted the cost is actually $300 to install. I cancelled my AIR Rescue membership after realizing they didnt fully assemble my AC unit after they took it apart. I hope people read more about this company and become aware.
