AirForceOnesie.com is in the business of selling cute novelty onesies for adults and children online, and I came to discover them after a sponsored post popped up on my Facebook newsfeed. Typically, I'd ignore such a post, but this particular ad showed a onesie based on a videogame character I love, so it grabbed my attention. Conveniently called the "Purple Dragon Onesie", which looked strikingly like Spyro the Dragon, this was the onesie that started my whole ordeal. I researched the site pretty heavily, and although I could find no consumer reviews (which should have been my first red flag), I did see they were based in Nashville, Tennessee, had all types of trustworthy security badges on their website, and the tone of the site was friendly, whimsical, and written in perfect English. Figuring they were simply new to the scene, I placed my order for the onesie in question. It took a few days to process, but I eventually got my shipment notification. With my notification came no tracking, but I didn't worry too much as it was only (supposedly) coming from a handful of states over. 1 week went by, 2 weeks went by, and when 3 weeks were approaching, I left them a Facebook comment. With no response, I sent a Facebook message. Since I discovered the company through a Facebook post, I figured that would be the best avenue to reach them. I wound up leaving them a bevy of personal Facebook messages, commented on the original post, left posts, emailed them, then tried their "contact us" page, and all to no avail whatsoever. Clearly, I was simply being ignored. All I was requesting was a tracking number or some sort of order update, and in a reasonably polite fashion I may add, but my correspondance was completely unanswered. At this point, I wrote the order off, and came to terms with my getting scammed. Then, lo and behold, an overstuffed plastic bag mailer shows up on my doorstep on Monday. On it was a Chinese customs form and address label, so I wasn't sure what it could be. I open it, and it's my Purple Dragon Onesie. I guess they have a Nashville, Tennessee all the way on the other side of the world. I open up the package, and it's quite different to the original photo. The wings are merely strange strips of shapeless orange fabric haphazardly sewn onto the back, the face has a bizarre embroidered nose, the horns are just two orange cylindrical stuffed pieces of fabric, and the oversized hood would barely fit a child's head. That's not all. I am 5'3" and 110 lbs, I fit into XS to S American clothing, and all my height is in my torso. Because I've had issues with the torso portion of onesies being too short to be comfy in, I went with the medium size for a bit of extra insurance room. The torso portion fit fine, but the arms and legs were so short that they looked like they were taken right off of children's pajamas. Actually, scratch that, I can typically fit in children's pajamas. A size medium, for an adult, that is too short in the extremeties to fit a person of 5 feet and 3 inches. I saw a Facebook post from them today, just three days after finally receiving my order, and the first interaction they seemed to have at all with their account since I ordered my onesie in March. I tried leaving a comment about receiving my onesie order on the post, and noticed comments were disallowed on my end. I also noticed messages were suddently disallowed, and visitor posts as well. Then, I started to see others' comments on the very same post and it occurred to me that I specifically had been blocked from interacting with them. I went back to check the comments I had left on previous posts, and all were deleted. I guess my messages inquiring about my order were received afterall, and it certainly explained the lack of visitor posts on their page when I first visited it. Have a complaint or question to handle? Ignore it, delete it, block interaction. Surely the sign of a stand-up company. I could have tried to return the onesie, but I know how complicated and unreliable returns can be with these Chinese companies. I also was lacking any sort of packing slip or receipt aside from the customs form taped directly to the mailer bag. With how deceptive AirForceOnesie.com had been throughout the entire process? I'd rather be out the cash but with my crap onesie than be without both, so after all that, I distrust their returns process enough to simply keep it. Basically, I learned that we have another Tidestore, Rosegal, or any other of the myriad Chinese scam shopping sites in our midst, but this one specializing in novelty onesies rather than women's fashion. Unlike them, however, they boasted a clear stateside address and none of the telltale English mistakes. Buyer most certainly beware.
