I have been charged by this company numerous times on my cell bill. I never signed up for their services. I don't even know what the services are for. Over the past 2 months AirG has put about $50.00 extra of charges on my bills. When I call the customer service number I get put on hold for over 15 minutes, and never get to talk to a service rep. AT&T keeps saying that they have removed it from my account, but the charges keep showing up. I do not appreciate this scam. After reading the report from Cecampbell, I remember getting a text message from AT&T saying "sign up to win a Mini Cooper." I get texts from AT&T all the time with different contests and offers. I read every page of the "terms" and nothing was stated about being signed up for a service. If this is how I got signed up for AirG, then shame on AT&T for being apart of a scam.

Just to make things clear, I did not click on any mobile banner. My report was correct. I never stated that AirG sent me a text message, but AT&T sent a text to my phone saying "Win a Mini Cooper". I get text messages from AT&T all the time offering some sort of sweepstakes. No one touches my phone but me, so there is no way that someone could have clicked on the mobile banner. I read the contest rules and terms and found nothing about being signed up for your service. I just wanted to make that clear.

AT&T has removed all charges from my bill and credited my account, thankfully.

Dear Ms_tiffy,

Thank you for your feedback, Ms_tiffy. Firstly, we are disappointed that you are dissatisfied. This promotion was set up as a banner on your mobile internet browser. Someone using your phone would have clicked on the banner in order to review the stipulations to enter the Mini Cooper sweepstakes. We have never promoted this sweepstakes via text messaging, and we do not promote or communicate with customers via text messaging for such promotional offers.

Again, the service was initiated on the mobile internet, and was purely an opt-in service, and was in no way pushed on to customers. Moreover, the terms and conditions for the service clearly and conspicuously expressed the mechanics for entering the sweepstakes to win the Mini Cooper. The user also had the option to decline the offer after reading the terms and conditions.

Finally, as you have referenced the claim made by Cecampbell, we feel compelled to address this fact. Mr. Campbell acknowledged that the charges were incurred because he shared his mobile phone with his son, who entered the sweepstakes through our promotional offer. We are sympathetic when handsets are shared between friends and family members, which can result in mysterious charges appearing.

We are happy to work with you to ensure your satisfaction and that future charges are removed from our services. Please feel free to contact me at 1-866-689-3280.

Sincerely,

Karen
