 The Airtron tech said he suspected a leak in the condenser coil in Spring of 2010 but hadn't done a leak inspection. He did not take the cover off the condenser, or he would have seen it was dirty and needed cleaning. On 8/20 the same tech again did not take the cover off the condenser, did NOT do a proper tuneup, took a "sniffer" (Freon detector) around for five minutes and said the condenser coil was leaking - then charged for 2lbs of freon which he did NOT install. Because six days later the system was STILL short TWO LBS of freon, and there were NO LEAKS (I had another company do a PROPER leak inspection).  The Airtron tech said I had very little choice but to buy a whole new system - since they could not legally replace the condenser coil nor install an older condenser that uses the older Freon. He also insisted I would have to have a new coil in the attic since it would not accept the new R410 coolant, when the coil unit CLEARLY STATES it accepts both the old Freon and the new R410. So the Airton tech lied. The Airtron tech lied about installing the Freon, lied about the condenser coil leaking, lied in a BBB rebuttal about having said the service valve was leaking (he never mentioned it at my house), lied about having to have new coils in the attic since the old one wouldn't accept R410, lied about  having to have a whole new A/C system and did NOT do a proper cleaning or leak inspection, yet charged for all of that. After the other company left, my system is working perfectly - just needed the condenser cleaned and Freon. I require a refund of $463 from Airton for the 2lbs of Freon we didn't get and the bogus "leak" test.
