I purchased a AKAI 27" Wide-Screen LCD TV Model LCT2785TA, on 7Jan07 for $700.00. The unit lasted till April 09 at which time the Power Supply stopped working. I took it to my local TV repair shop, they found the power supply module to be faulity. They tried contacting AKAI, to no avail. They searched around to find parts but found that parts were not available for this unit....... I contacted the local Radio Shack store where I purchased it to get parts or a place that had parts for it. They told me the place where they send them do not service anything bigger the 26"....... I find myself at a loss, no resources to contact and no parts available, and out $700.00. Were do I go from here?

Please read my write-up on this site....go to Radio Shack. There has to be something done about this.

Akai also has a website that they are selling their t.v.s from with NO "CONTACT US"
Does that not just make you mad. There has to be something done about this.

My report is titled "Radio Shack does not g.....parts after 1.5 years. Good luck.

I think your only hope is going to be to scour the used markets looking for the part you need. Have the repaid shop detail exactly what part is is and see if yuo can find one used. I'm sure there are junked TVs that may have the part you need.

As for radio shack or akai, they are covered for your loss. Unless you purchased an extended warranty from radio shack they won't help you as its past 30 days. As far as I know the manufacturer only warranties these TVs for 1 year. That's probably why you can't find parts, they stopped making them.
