The day before yesterday I attempted to contact Al's Army Navy store in Florida to obtain some information, and to find out why I am getting an Microsoft interrupt at their website when I attempt to create an account. That intercept states that there is a problem with the website's security certificate in that it is either expired or not yet valid. I wrote to to ascertain if they are in fact in business and complying with the terms of their contract because they list a valid Verify.com or Authorize.com logo.

This morning I checked with Al's website again, and it still displays the Verified logo and I contacted the people at authorize.net. When you click on that logo it indicates that Al's is a verified site. But when you click on the URL attached to Verify or Authorize URL you find that the message intercept from Internet Explorer is telling you that their URL has a problem that it is either expired or not yet valid. This is a copy of the intercept:

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.

I have attempted to contact Al's Army Navy website, but to no avail. I have directed an email to the president, a Mr. Neal Crasnow, of the company at their sales office, and have had no response. This has gone on for two days now and there has been absolutely no response. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau to ascertain their status and they have no record of them. (That does not indicate a problem, only that there is no record - positive or negative.)

There has been no response from Al's so I have attempted to find the problem's solution with you, because in checking with other sources they are listed as reputable and an authorized Eureka dealer (at least the Orlando store is). Are they authorized to use the Authorize.net logo in their advertisements if they do have a problem with the security certificate of their website?

I am hesitant to deal with them (and won't until I get a response from them) if that Microsoft interrupt is actual and not a mistake. And if it is not should Al's have an explanation that would deal with that matter; I think that it should.

About 9 mo. ago we took the buy buttons off of the web site because we were loosing our long time web person. Instead we put our phone # on the front page so that people that wanted something would be able to be helped.

We did not have the correct pass words to answer emails so we did not answer email for at least 6 mo. now we have gotten the passwords and are responding to inquires.

He checked with the bbb which we are not a member of and no report has ever been filled so he assumes this is bad. reports with the bbb are complaints which we have not had.

Al's has no record of a phone call from Jim nor did I receive an email to my account.

lastly Jim has not been riped off in any way. So I do not know why he filed this report instead of just picking up the phone.
