I had ordered a particular radio from Al's Auto Wrecking (Mr. Dan Comaroto). Upon receipt and installation by my mechanic, we noticed that it was the wring radio (similar model). It worked poorly. I contacted Mr. Comaroto within a week. We exchanged emails and phone calls to clarify the model needed. He promised to check to see if he or an affiliate had the radio. I asked him if I should eturn the radio, several times, and he assured me that Al's Auto Wrecking wants a happy customer.

Over time he advised about what to do about my car's engine, which needs a rebuild vs. buying a rebuilt engine. I contacted him weekly and he was unable to find a radio. Finally, I was contacted by another company who had the correct radio. I contacted Mr. Comaroto once again, checking on whether he could get the correct radio. For two weeks I did not get a reply. I finalyy got a reply that I had the radio more than the 30 days specified. I told Al's Auto Wrecking that I was in contact with Mr. Comaroto from day one and he told me not to worry, that Al's Auto Wrecking wants a happy customer and that he told me it was okay for me to hold onto the radio. Mr. Comaroto had never contacted me.

I contacted the BBB and received no satisfaction. Someone in the upper ranks at Al's Auto Wrecking stated that I had never contacted them for three months and that Mr. Comaroto stated that he never promised me anything and that I had never contacted him.

Mr Camaroto no longer works here, however, our records show that this customer WAS sent a replacement of the first radio which we purchased from another facility, at no additional charge to him. That part had a 30 day warranty, which was clearly stated on his invoice.

We did not recieve another call from this customer until several months later, well past the 30 days and at that time we advised him that we were unable to return the second radio to our supplier.

We did, however, take the time to research and provide him with the telephone number and names of another company who had the part at a reduced rate (our wholesale price) since we understood his predicament and wanted to try and ameliorate his financial output as much as possible.

We did not hear from him again for another 60 days at which time he once again requested a refund for the part. We were still unable to return the part to our supplier - the 30 day warranty was no 6 months old- and once again told him our situation.

Had he called withiin the warranty period, we would have either replaced (as we did the first time) or refunded the price of the part upon its return. Warranty periods are clearly stated and unfortunately cannot be changed for any reason.

We regret we were unable to satisfy his request, however we cannot be held responsible for issues occuring outside of the clearly stated warranty periods.
