I purchased a book wrote by Al Walentis titled The Secret World of Jon & Kate for 9.99 on Kindle, and I have to say it is a complete rip off. First Al goes into detail how he is a "respective" member of the media by working for The Reading Eagle for over 30 years, and he turns around and admits that most of the material he wrote in his book is a complete lie, especially one section of Jodi and Kevin Kreider exploiting The Gosselin Kids by filming their potty training.

Al Walentis is looking to make a quick buck by writing a bunch of lies about people, selling his book as fact, and turns around admitting it was all lies and he took the book off the market to "make corrections".

If you are publishing a book, you don't go out there and sell it knowing that you did not cover all the bases in your fact checking, and when you get called on the lies you wrote go around and say sorry I made it all up. I can see why The Reading Eagle let him go, and why US Magazine did not keep him around. I can't believe that Reading Area Community College keeps him employed as a writing teacher. Where did this guy get his degree from?

I hope the people he lied about in his book take his a*s through the ringer in court.

Examples of how Discussing The Gosselins Is Toxic

My only question for Al Walentis would be, why would you bother discussing Kate Gosselin anymore?  I think we are at a point where her 15 minutes of fame is over.  I have seen the fan base on both sides and they are crazy in my opinion to get this worked up over 2 people that have 8 kids.  If you ask me it is the toxic kiss of death to even discuss these people.

I question Al Walentis

I question the credibility of Al Walentis.  I was reading on other blogs and his comment here is the same PR comment that he's been plastering everywhere else.

Why would you a book with known typos?  Have you ever heard of a spell checker?  Other blogs have been bringing up Al's flip-flopping on this Jodi Kreider potty training issue, and Al stuck to his words until Rip-Off-Report topped Al's search results.

Al Walentis is also not being truthful, as to the potty training issue.  Al's words claim to be from a reader reading the free sample of his book online, however, the potty training issue is, or was in the later chapters in the first release of his book.  So the only way to know about that material is to buy the book.

If you are going to publish a book, and expect people to pay money for it on top of it all, you Al Walentis owe it to your customers to be truthful, and perform your basic fact checking.  Why do you even call yourself a journalist, when you fail to follow the basic steps of journalism 101?

Total nonsense. Commenters on my book pointed out some clarifications so I updated manuscript to reflect it. That is known as responsibility. The book was taken offline essentially to fix typos and make minor fixes based on additional information.. Online publishing allows updates. There was nothing in the original manuscript that was incorrect, just things that were misinterpreted. The "original report" is BS from someone who wanted to read a book for free. I stand by its accuracy 100%
