 In February of 2016, my mother passed on the day of her funeral Albert Butts called me to say he'd see me the next day. Absolutely not. I'm at my MOTHER'S. Funeral. I put in for 2 funeral days and 1 week vacation. Following paycheck short 8 hrs funeral leave or vacation day used for funeral leave. He said somehow it was Omitted. File grievance number one. Had the audacity to say he could put it back on the books. Second, March discussed having off Maundy Thursday and good Friday with Butts. Later, texted the same immediately told me we"re short, turned down two other people who wanted same days off. Everyone said they requested no days off. Holy week Butts asks me to do overtime Monday , I decline. Butts returns Tuesday same request, same response I give. Weds, Butts asks me to work. Easter Saturday. No way, This is holy week. Thursday, he tells me they are doing away with how for 14 years my post was ran. They're moving me to a place where I won't be bothered by anyone and my weekends will still be off. I was moved to a much busier site and work Sundays. Butts told the people I requested to be move. I neither requested to be moved or sign anything. Third. Another grievance filed. Moved after 14 years, not paid a funeral day. Lied and said my post no longer existed. Which it still does. Aggrav more than ever. Forced to work Saturday. 14 years seniority. People with less time off weekends. Retaliation when I refused overtime during Holy Week. Gonna file more paperwork with other bureaus.

 People die. Yes they do. Your mother will die too. If she hasn't already. You shouldn't be called day of funeral for time off already appeoved. Morally. Second, Holy week is part of the Christian calendar. Whole thing in a nutshell and ii'm rapped out. It is illegal to discriminate for religious reasons and retaliation is also illegal.

 We get it YOU didnt want to work on what YOU consider a relilgous holiday. The problem is that THEY dont have to keep YOU as an employee. Yes you have rights as an employee but THEY have rights as well. At this point an employee of 14 years has REFUSED to work. So they will move you or get rid of you. Its simple business. there is NOTHING that says that they MUST honor YOUR religous commitments above running thier business. Odds are that you didnt get your time off request in on time and expected that they would JUST give YOU that time off BECAUSE you claim its "Holy Week". LIFE doesnt always work the way YOU want it to. In this case it appears YOU wont be working there much longer.

MY first move would be to move YOU someplace YOU cant do anymore damage then you already have by stomping your feet about working. People DIE!!!! That is the final act of life. SOmetimes you get to go to the funeral sometimes YOU have to work. In this case YOU were asked to work on days that WERE NOT the funeral. Instead of doing the ADULT thing and COMPROMISE, YOU CHOSE to fight with your job on working. I wouldnt expect to be working there for much longer. YOU have proven that no matter HOW long you have worked there you can STILL act like a spoiled teenager when it suits YOU.
