Complaint Review: Albert Moving

Contracted to load/unload household goods. Refused to give an in home estimate assuring me they did it for a living and knew how long it would take, how much space on ABF Truck. Assured they were "professional movers" & as a bonus I got a "move coordinator".

Seriously underestimated time and space use causing drastic price increase once the truck was loaded. One of the three loaders was a young man who told me he had never done this before! The other two had me believe they were experts and when the goods got to Arizona, I had massive damages. Loaders arrived 3 hours late and then wanted overtime and also a "tip"! They turned in their hours to the boss on the phone in front of me and padded the job by a half hour. Rather than take 3 men 3 1/2 hours to load, it took these three 5 hours. YEt on the Arizona end it took only 3 hrs. for two men to unload, as was estimated. BUT... This company now wants another $200 and refuses to process my damage claim until I pay up. All of a sudden the price is based on linear feet in the truck and weight and not by the hour, even though I did a great deal of moving the goods to the ramp from the house myself. I paid $1312 up front before they ever started loading. They did not pad and wrap the large unboxed items at all as was promised. Did not put in a "block" kit in washer as was paid for. Basically just threw stuff in. Even stacked the washing machine on the lid of the chest freezer which crushed the lid.
