Complaint Review: Albertsons Grocery Store

Albertsons Grocery Store FREQUENTLY OVERCHARGES Norco, California

I have had it with Albertsons.  At first I thought it was an innocent error on their part, but now I am more than convinced it is not.  I have been overcharged, over priced and cheated out of advertised discounts on numerous occasions for the past year.  Since I have been carefully checking, with every other receipt there is some kind of error.  It looks like this company is up to their old tricks.

Please people check your store receipts.  They are counting on people not checking and questioning their bill.  I am tired of going to the customer service line getting my refund and having the store employees look at me like it's my fault or I am inconveniencing them again.

Also always check the dates on sale items, last week they were selling hot dogs with a $1.00 off coupon and they were already expired.  They don't care about you....they just want your money!!!

I have four things to say to this:

1. It's store policy to either give a discount or give an item for free if the price is different than advertised. The employees may give you dirty looks for being an inconvenience, but so what? You have the right to complain if the store makes a mistake. Take advantage of it!

2. The date on discounted items isn't the "expiration" date, it's actually the "sell by" date, meaning that the store is discouraged from selling that item after the printed date unless it's marked down. The food will actually stay good quite a while after the sell by date, and if you plan to eat it soon after you buy it the discount coupons are actually a great deal.

3. "They don't care about you....they just want your money!!!"? Well, of course they want your money. Most businesses do.

4. If you can't afford to drive a Mustang, drive a Volkswagen. If you can't afford to fly, take the bus. If shopping at Albertsons just doesn't fit into your financial future, start shopping at grocery outlet stores. Granted you won't get the same luxuries such as quality food and customer service, but at least you won't have any excuse to complain. Live within your means.
