Alert Security Services Door to door peddlers who do not provide protection and give false information looking to trap you into a contract with someone else. Saint Augustine, Florida
These people bang on your door pushing a "special promotional" deal and identify themselves as being ADT or ADT dealer which I did not know the difference and they didn't tell me.
I let them in because a relative got broken into and the guy said he would get credit if I just talked to him. The security reresentative (door to door salesman) was very fast talking and high pressure. I asked questions about how the system really worked but he didn't know the answers and if I hadn't been so concerned about a break in I would have thrown him out right after he started his high pressure pitch.
I unfortunately signed their contract and am now locked into paying for years for "monitoring" they don't even provide. I looked into this after it was too late and found out that it wasn't a promotional offering but what they do every day and that they really weren't ADT, just an in between that drives around knocking on doors to put in a basic alarm that doesn't really protect you. They sell the contract to the real ADT and thats how they make their money.
AFTER they say everything is free they charge $99.00 to "connect to the police, fire department and hospitals" which is a lie. All they connect to is the ADT company which you are then stuck with and have to pay no matter what even if you don't use the lousy alarm they put in.
They are not honest and take advantage of people. If you want an alarm, my advice is to go to a real alarm company that will monitor and service you on an ongoing basis as long as you want to continue with them-- it should be one that knows about their field and actually cares about their customers and would not use deceit and misleading statements as tactics to get you to sign.

Whoever wrote this complaint should do their research Alert Security is an authorized dealer for ADT and is licensed as such for over 30 years,it saddens me that you would actually write something this negative without doing you research.
When you let the associate into your home after he BANGED on your door,you made that decision let him or her in,and Im sure the associate had proper ID as it is required to wear says ALERT Security plain as day,if not, he or she should have not been able to enter.As far as being knowledgeable about equipment and how it actually works was explained by your installer Im sure! EVERYTHING you signed was in black and white with nothing hidden.And a 3 day Florida state right to recision was also part of that paperwork.If you felt pressured you had ample time to cancel.
The 99 dollars was for Installation and yes you are monitoredbyADT directly who verifys and calls the necessary emergency personnel whether your home or not,to the best of my knowledge,thats how security systems work period!
Ive been working for this company for almost 6 months now and have met a lot of nice people in my travels we have protected police officers,firefighters and many others in my short time here so far,I have even personally paid the 99 dollars for some elderly out of my own pocket BECAUSE I CARE ! Bottom line we help save lives....Alert Security as a whole is a Great company andWE DO CARE....Billy
