Complaint Review: Alexander Auto Mall of Cool Springs

Two weeks ago (early Dec 09) I found an ad in autotrader.com for a used 2006 Infiniti M35 for $23,997 at Alexander Infiniti in Franklin, Tenn.  I called to confirm availability and went to see their sales exec, Glenn Reeves.  I explained that I was ready to buy and asked to drive the car. 

I waited 15 minutes for the sales exec to return with the keys.  As we walked to the car, he quietly said, "we also have an M35x you may be interested in that's the same price, $28,997."  I stopped him and explained that the price on his web site showed $23,997.  He then began an elaborate game by explaining the "simple mistake" and how this car was certified so it had to be priced higher.  

Glenn then brings out his General Manager who openly chastices his sales exec and proceeds to tell me he "has more than that invested in the car" and offers me a small discount off the $29k if I will buy.  The entire experience took one hour of my time.  What a rip.

I went out to autotrader.com today and guess what?  The same car is still listed at the $23,997 price!   Needless to say, I will not go back if this is how they treat their customers.
