I purchased an all access card also known as Net Spend, I was advised that it would take at least 10 working days before I would get my card. I waited for 2 weeks I went back to the place where I had purchased my card and was then advised to contact Net Spend which I did and also canceled my temporary card and waited for a reply via email from Net Spend. A week later I received an email to contact them via email again which I tried and failed so i decided to contact them via phone. I was put on hold...not going to mention how long... finally someone got on the line and was asked all kinds of question which I was able to provide being that I was the one that purchased the card. What really upsets me is that they had told me that I was not going to be given or mailed a permanent card due to certain information does not comply, mind you this after the fact that I had already provided all the information including my social security # and DOB etc.etc...

They wanted me to fax all my information to them and that they would then send me my card. After being on hold for so long and giving them the information that they need regarding myself and my temporary card # they still want me to fax them a copy of my social security card, state ID with photo and a bill with my name and address. I told them that I would not send them a copy of anything and that they should already have all that information from when I had first purchased the card, they still insist that I fax them another one and that they were sorry for the inconvenience. I told them that sorry still does not help me for they have my money and I can't use my card because they wont issue me one. I have had my identity stolen before that is why I will not fax a copy of anything regarding my information. So now Net Spend has my money and card whats a girl to do.

All financial institutions are required by banking regulations to verify the identity of every cardholder. It is BSA/AML Compliance that requires this. The same Compliance regs require reporting of money laundering, deposit reporting for anything over $10,000 and comsumer protections and liabilities for errors among many other things.

Something is not correct with the information provided or they would not ask for verification. This is to help protect your identity by you proving that you are who you say you are and not someone trying to open an account under your name.
