Music download scam by My Music Inc. I got burnt by a site called All Cool Music advertising free music and movie downloads, with a lifetime membership sounding too good to be true. Tiny print reassured me that I would NEVER BE CHARGED AGAIN.

The site www.allcoolmusic.com has several link pages that make it appear legitimate, such as links to guides (follow some of the links and I saw only a title page with nothing else there).

After entering my credit card info and ordering what I believed to be a lifetime of free music and movie downloads, then the name Limewire showed up. Yes, free downloads were from Limewire.

What did I just pay for after all? My receipt, emailed to me, reads: "You have purchased access to All Cool Music..Today's charge is $49.94"

I started getting nervous at the name Limewire being different from the All Cool Music name, and later billing showed My Music, Inc.

Looked up information about Limewire and found out it is a FREE service. All Cool Music is not free at all, I purchased ACCESS to a free service!

I called my credit card company and was required to cancel membership with the internet company, and send the credit card company a copy of my email requesting cancellation in good faith.

The fine print on my credit card statement says I have to live within 100 miles of the company and the amount in dispute has to be at least $50.00 -- All Cool Music seems to be prepared to protect themselves at consumers' expense.

When ordering from All Cool Music, there is a statement: "Please allow 24 hours before attempting to cancel".

NOTE: I tried to cancel my "membership" through the site called support@AllCoolMusic.com and was amazed with the drop down list of other companies.

I would like to see this ACCESS SERVICE exposed for the cheating scam it is. I understand that I should have paid more attention to the little red flags along the way and my intuition that told me it was likely to be too good an offer to be true.

I have learned to be much more careful with online ordering. I learned the hard way and paid for access to a free service.

Thank you to the other people writing Rip-Off Reports about Limewire and My Music Inc. for confirming my suspicions. I wish I had checked the Rip Off Reports before I ordered online.

I had the same problem with MyMusicInc., aka iMusicSearch. It took me three months to get a response to my refund request. After telling them I had filed a rip-off report and providing a direct link to it in my email, they sent back a letter with a link to their refund page:

One of my hotel points affiliates said I could get points by going and registering for this site. I started to put in my information thinking this was cool but then something did not seem right. I did a search and found this and closed my browser before submitting.

Thank you for allowing me to save my money and not get taken.... :)
