Complaint Review: All County Contractors Inc.

John Paul is how he introduces himself. His real name is John Barrett. His partner in Crime is Vinny. An frail old plumbing contractor out of NYC.  Claims he's a made man with the mafia. These two buffoons are slick talking used car salesmen that have almost zero field experience between them. They use someone else's license to qualify them. So many complaints the last guy pulled his license. They bring in clients with mid to high prices promising quick turn on the job. The only thing quick is how fast they get a deposit and the next check. Then they lose interest and it's on to the next victim. They pay everyone as a sub straight time no taxes . So  they can sidestep a workers comp claim. But then they will pay that person a reduced rate in cash to beat the system and get the job done even cheaper. Then on friday, they can't cover checks to the workers from all the embezzlement that they've done til they go out and find more unsuspecting clients.  " We will pay you next week " They dont.

Another common practice is to cheat the various building dept.s they deal with by not applying for permits. They only do when the client insists. Then they apply for one to appease them when they might need five or six.  Then they doctor a fake contract with way low numbers for the building dept. to get a lower cost on the permit. This is a selling point they say helps keep their costs down for the client. 

God forbid you not know exactly what you want when you sign with them. Change your mind about something that's not in the vaguely written contract, this is where they really put the screws to you. They will overcharge for a change or an extra so hard that clients feel devastated.  Then , they find a way to make like it's the workers fault and back charge them as well.  They have unimpeded control over this cash machine with profit margins over 50 percent and still can't pay people. They will pull a back charge on a worker out of their a*s with no real representation from the other trade, or just plain lie for more profit.

In conclusion.   For warned is for armed ! Proceed at your own risk.

Have they ever gotten a job done timely and on budget ? 

Too few times to mention.  The bigger the job, the worse it is.

They will take a credit card for a deposit, but won't for the rest because they know they will get disputed for all the problems. If you want to get your job started and not completed without a lot of hassles,  these are your guys. Otherwise find somebody else and avoid All County rihpoffs  err I mean All County Contracto
